Technology & Software companies and decision-makers. Page 56

Technology and software companies range from two-person product startups to global platforms, and the way they buy tools depends heavily on size. In small companies a founder or head of product often decides alone. In mid-size companies the decision usually sits with a department head (engineering, security, marketing or sales operations) with a finance sign-off. In large companies a buying group forms, and an executive sponsor is needed before procurement gets involved.

The industry is not one market. Software-as-a-service vendors sell subscriptions and care about retention and expansion. IT services and consulting firms sell hours and outcomes to other businesses. Cybersecurity, cloud computing, AI and analytics companies each have their own buyers and vocabulary. Use the segment filters on this page to move from the whole industry to the group you actually sell to, recruit from or market to.

The numbers on this page come from the records in our database: company counts, the size and country breakdowns, and the most common titles among the contacts we hold. Treat them as a guide to where the data is strongest, not as a census of the industry. Open a company profile to see its email format, the contacts we hold by team, and when its data was last updated.
